1. Yes, I strongly support the Southern California Veterans Cemetery at Gypsum Canyon, and have been an active supporter, including having spoke at a California State Assembly hearing supporting the cemetery and holding CalVet accountable. This project has been delayed far too long, and our veterans deserve a final resting place here in Orange County. As Supervisor, I will work directly with County staff, the State, and our federal delegation to secure remaining funding, resolve any outstanding issues, and keep the project on a clear timeline. I will also use my position to ensure regular public updates and accountability so this project is finally delivered.

 

2. Yes, I support equal benefits for Korean Vietnam War veterans who later became U.S. citizens. These veterans served alongside American forces and deserve equal recognition and support. I am proud to have the support of VALOR (Veterans Alliance of Orange County), and I take that responsibility seriously. As Supervisor, I will advocate through County resolutions, work with our federal representatives, and partner with organizations like yours to push for passage of the Valor Act and ensure these veterans receive the benefits they earned.

 

3. Improving access starts with making the system easier to navigate and expanding what’s available. As Supervisor, I will work to strengthen coordination between the County, VA, and local providers so veterans can access healthcare, mental health services, and housing support more easily. I will also push for expanded outreach and mobile services, especially for aging veterans, so help reaches them where they are. No veteran should struggle to access the care and support they deserve.

 

4. Yes, I support formal recognition of allied veterans, including Korean Vietnam War veterans, in County memorials and programs. Their service and sacrifice should be publicly acknowledged. As Supervisor, I will work to ensure County events, memorials, and programs reflect and honor their contributions.

 

5. Yes, absolutely. I would welcome the opportunity to meet regularly with your association. Ongoing engagement is critical to making sure we are listening, understanding, and actually delivering for our veterans.
